igr has been involved in the research project "AKUT - Incentive Systems for Municipal Flood Prevention" for two years.

On April 16, 2021, the final online event of the project funded as part of the German Strategy for Adaptation to Climate Change will take place. At this event, igr will also give a keynote speech.

As part of the project, the interdisciplinary interaction of various public and private actors against the background of heavy rain prevention as a communal joint task was examined. A consulting tool was developed in cooperation with municipalities, universities and users. This calculates an optimized overall solution, considering the dependencies and mutual influences of the actors. The advice tool is intended to support municipalities in the selection of suitable precautionary measures and to promote the implementation through the cooperation of various actors with suitable incentives.
