Under the slogan “The dream of flying has come true. It’s time for new dreams”, a new and innovative use of Tegel airport in Germany’s capital is being planned. Along with the opening of the international airport BER in the southeast of Berlin, the current airport Tegel will be closed, and will therefore turn into one of the largest available inner-city development areas.

In recognition of their many years of comprehensive experience with infrastructure and media ducts, igr has been awarded the contract of planning a infrastructure duct for the new research and industrial area on the current estate of Tegel airport in a tendering procedure (VOF) by Tegel Projekt GmbH. On the basis of the current master plan and agreements that have already taken place, igr is able to con-tribute to the future infrastructure of the location with their experience and new ideas at an early date of the planning procedure. In a first step, the building of an accessible infra structure duct with a length of l800 meters is planned. The duct is to incorporate existing energy and infrastructure ducts and to ensure a maximum flexibility concerning the soon-to-come development. After contributing to the work at the new capital airport Berlin BER, igr is now represented in the capital through a second interesting project. We are looking forward to the implementation of the project.
