Bingen, up-grading and redesign L 419

As the main access road to the town of Bingen, the L 419 was significantly up-graded along a 1,000 metre stretch in the district of Bingen-Kempten. One side of the L 419 is mainly developed, whilst the other side directly borders the Mainz-Koblenz railway line. The work was undertaken in cooperation with Deutsche Bahn (DB) and the town of Bingen. Adjacent railway overpasses and underpasses were an integral part of the planning. The underpasses lay in the flood plain area of the Rhein. The entire pipework network for waste and storm water was also renewed. All building operations took place with normal traffic conditions.
