What distinguishes us is the flexibility of a medium-sized company. Our customers use engineering services in areas such as urban water management, transport, environmental planning, aviation and urban land use planning. For this, the students commit themselves to complete the study elements, such as their pre-study placement, their periods of practical training, their projects and bachelor dissertations, at igr, and to work at the company during the semester breaks.

igr offers training places to trainees. The trainees are completely integrated into the day-to-day operations and are afforded a profound insight into igr’s departments through a comprehensive in-house seminar programme, as well as construction work experience and on-site visits. The number of trainees in comparison to staff, shows the importance we attach to junior staff development in our company. The success achieved proves this strategy right. Trainees from igr have been acclaimed several times for outstanding performance by the Rheinland-Pfalz Chamber of Engineers.

All year round, we offer school and college students the chance to gain an insight into professional life, and to complete a placement in one of the company’s areas of expertise. For example, in the ‘draftsman’ occupational area, placements are supported by a training programme, which gives the trainees the opportunity to familiarise themselves with a variety of specialisms and associated software.
