Consultations for GIS selection, Herxheim municipal services

A system-independent consultation about GIS selection was undertaken for the Herxheim municipal services. For this purpose the available data and documents were analysed and assessed for their further use. Conversations were conducted with members of staff to discuss the requirements and the depth of analysis needed. A tailored design for the GIS selection was developed to meet the requirements of the municipal services.

Preparation of funding applications for the municipalities of Wolfstein, Lauterecken and Enkenbach-Alsenborn

Funding applications for sewer rehabilitation were prepared for the municipalities of Wolfstein, Lauterecken and Enkenbach-Alsenborn. A sewer rehabilitation design, required for the applications, was prepared as part of the exercise.

In Rheinland-Pfalz financial support is available (dependent on the level of customer fees) for rehabilitation and upgrading measures in waste and mixed water sewers, where they lie in water protection zones, or where their condition is such, that immediate or short term rehabilitation is required. This is the same with waste water treatment plants, where the proportion of external water is above 70%, so that particular actions are required to achieve the objectives of the Water Framework Directive.

The municipalities of Wolfstein and Lauterecken were the first to have their funding applications approved, as the sewer rehabilitation was already funded in 2013 as part of the fusion of the municipalities.

Current status and rehabilitation of the sewage network for the Enkenbach-Alsenborn municipality

The current status of sewers, domestic connections, water pipes and road surfaces was tacheometrically surveyed and documented across the entire municipality of Enkenbach-Alsenborn. Therefore a sewer and water database was created.

A contract for a TV survey was tendered and monitored, and a structural rehabilitation strategy written from the resulting information. A hydro-dynamic sewer network calculation with long term series simulations was undertaken and a hydraulic rehabilitation strategy, as well as an overall rehabilitation strategy, developed.

The sewer rehabilitation was commissioned within a framework contract and is being carried out in accordance with the rehabilitation strategy.

Current status documentation of the water network for the Schweich municipality

The current status of water pipes and sewers was collected and documented in the districts of Fell, Fastrau, Naurath, Mehring, Detzem and Schweich. To do this, a sewage and water database was created, and the collected data was processed into plans and a web based GIS. With the help of data available via the internet, authorised personnel can access up-to-date data.

Hydraulic calculations for the sewage network of the town of Wörrstadt

In the town of Wörrstadt the hydraulic performance of the sewer network was checked in the catchment area of the storm water overflow 1 (Stelzer Straße), where there are suspected weak points, on the basis of up-to-date site data, and with the help of the latest available rainfall data. Weaknesses were identified and rehabilitation work to remedy them suggested.
