„White Smoke“ at the Biomass Heating Power Plant

In the municipal area of Enkenbach-Alsenborn, the biomass heating power plant has started its trial operation. The turbine with an electric power of 2.6 MW and a thermal output of 3.0 MW is being gradually run up and will deliver its full output into the new long-distance heating system (5 km) by January 2010.

In compliance with EEG (Renewable Energies Act), electric power will be fed into the power supply system owned by Enkenbach-Alsenborn's municipal works.

Award for the second-best civil engineering degree at the Technical University of Kaiserslautern

During the graduation ceremony on November 13, 2009, of the civil engineering faculty of the Technical University of Kaiserslautern, Mr Lars Bernhardt was awarded for the second-best degree by igr's managing directors.

By tradition, this award is presented by a regionally based company.

WESTGATE Opening – Opening of Croatia's largest Shopping Center on November 12, 2009

After a construction period of 15 months only, the WESTGATE Shopping City in Zapresic, northwest of Zagreb, was opened on November 11, 2009.

Since 2006, igr, as prime architect/engineer, was responsible for the infrastructural development. During the construction of the infrastructural systems, igr was the construction supervisor as well as the project manager and, thus, essentially contributed to the scheduled opening.

Climate protection is most important for igr

In August 2009, a photovoltaic power system with a peak capacity of 38 kW was installed on the roof of igr's office building.

The system produces almost half of the annual power consumption. The CO2 reduction is about 25 tons.

Runway on Baden Airpark Taken Back in Service

During a celebration, the basically repaired and extended runway on Baden Airpark was taken into service again. On this morning, one of our employees was the first person to use the new runway with his airplane.

Karlsruhe / Baden-Baden Airport (FKB) opened his doors to everybody on Sunday, September 20, 2009, from 10:00 a.m. 6:00 p.m.. Flights with an airplane type Junkers Ju 52 (“Tante Ju”) belonged to the highlights of this event.
