Site plan for “Kenner Ley II”, Kenn municipality, Trier-Saarburg district

The municipality of Kenn lies on a road junction not far from Trier. Due to the high demand for accommodation, a new residential area was to be developed. The underlying development potential was examined through a feasibility study, and after this the instigation of the site development plan was decided. Due to the position, solutions to drainage, landscape integration, and transport links had to be found. Agreement with the forestry and agricultural chambers of commerce was accomplished during the planning process. Possible traffic emissions, industrial noise and odours, and radon occurrence were checked through expert reports and taken account of in the construction specifications.

Due to the particular position of the site on the edge of the forest, species protection studies were undertaken, in particular the occurrence of bats was investigated in detail.
